DOG OF THE WEEK – Help Ernie find his Forever Home

Ernie is a smart, alert, and agile Border Collie mix.  He is approximately one year old. Ernie is very loyal and enjoys being with people and other dogs.  He loves to snuggle, cuddle, and kiss.  Ernie loves to run and play. He enjoys retrieving, tennis balls are a favorite, and will return the ball to play again and again.

He also enjoys a good game of tug o' war with his foster brothers and sister.  Throw in a squirrel chase and Ernie's day is complete.  Afterwards he is content to curl up on his bed with a bone.  Ernie is house broken, comes when called, and knows his basic commands.  He is clever and intuitive enough to follow hand gestures and similar 'non-command' instructions.  He walks easily on a leash and is exceptionally well behaved in a car.  Ernie will be happiest in an active lifestyle home, where he will not be confined or left alone for long periods.  He would make an exceptional second dog. About Home for Good Dog Rescue:

Home for Good is a volunteer-based, 501(c) (3) non-profit animal rescue. We are a 100 percent foster based organization with offices in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. Our organization is dedicated to rescuing dogs from deplorable conditions in kill shelters, tending to their physical needs and finding them a new loving home where they can thrive.

At Home for Good, we seek the best treatment for our animals. We provide medical care, training, support and hope. Our dogs are vaccinated and ID micro-chipped. We rescue puppies and dogs that are facing euthanasia. Some require surgery from a specialist to repair broken limbs, while others may need additional rehabilitation time and specific medical care for respiratory illnesses, skin infections, heartworm treatments, and emergency surgeries.
