Congressman Lance Congratulates New Providence & Berkeley Heights High Schools

Both high schools were among 11 in the 7th congressional district to make U.S. News and World Report's list of best New Jersey high schools.


Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) congratulated New Providence High School and Governor Livingston High School, two of the eleven Seventh District high schools recognized by U.S. News and World Report as among the best in the State of New Jersey and the Nation.

"I am proud to congratulate the eleven Seventh District high schools for being named among the best in New Jersey and recognized nationally by U.S. News and World Report's annual best schools in America," said Lance in a statement released by his office. "This national recognition is testament to the hard work and dedication of students, teachers and parents and I am proud to represent these schools in Congress."

Seventh District schools included in U.S. News and World Report's top schools in New Jersey are listed below with their U.S. News ranking:

  • #14 Ridge High School in Basking Ridge
  • #15 Millburn High School
  • #18 Summit High School
  • #20 Montgomery High School in Skillman
  • #22 Westfield High School
  • #24 North Hunterdon High School in Annandale
  • #26 Union County Magnet High School in Scotch Plains
  • #33 Bernards High School in Bernardsville
  • #34 New Providence High School
  • #38 Governor Livingston High School in Berkeley Heights
  • #51 Dover High School


According to U.S. News and World Report, the rankings include several factors such as students' performance on state exit exams, student-teacher ratio, proficiency in college-level and advanced placement courses and participation in advanced placement classes.
