Boys and Girls UCIAC Relays results 

Girls Basketball

Union County Championship-

GL 50, Watchung Hills 41: Sam Dowling led the Highlanders with 11 points (five assists) and Mallory George put in 10 points (10 rebounds).

GL 61, Summit 35: Erin Ferguson scored 15 points and pulled in 17 boards in the Highlanders' blowout UCIAC semifinals victory. 

GL 60, KPS 17: Alyssa Polimeni scored 14 points on her way to joining the 1000 point club in the Highlanders' first round UCT win over Kent Place.

Boys Basketball

GL 41, NP 29: The team pulled in 28 rebounds with Logan Kelley and Rendyll Moorman leading the way with six a piece.

GL 58, Union 44: Mallory George scored 15 points to go along with nine rebounds and Erin Ferguson put in 13 and nine as the Highlanders advanced to the UCIAC semis

GL 52, Hillside 50: The Highlanders pulled in 37 rebounds in their narrow victory over Hillside. Logan Kelley led the way with 12.

GL 59, Summit 54: Logan Kelley scored 37 points en-route to a Highlanders victory.

GL 46, NP 28: Logan Kelley continued to prove hes a consistent 20 PPG scorer by putting in 24 points in the win over the Pioneers.

Hockey

-Drew Miller totaled four points on a goal and an assist in the 5-0 win over Dayton.

-Defeated Parsippany for its first win of the 2011 season. For more: 

-John Labella made 33 saves in the 5-1 loss to Montclair. 

Boys & Girls Fencing

Districts @ Wayne Valley-David Jennings, Eric Weng and Jason Yang all qualified for the individual championships while both boys and girls squads advanced to the sweet 16.

vs Millburn (Boys & Girls W)-The Boys Epée that went to a La Belle 13-13. David Jennings clinched the win for the Boys squad 5-4. Bennett Warcaster Epée made a crucial play in the bout before, tying up the meet 13-13 winning against A strip, Ricky Eshenbach 5-3

The Santellis- 3rd overall, Foil- 1st, Saber-4th, Epee 10th

The Centrullos- The Highlanders put up a strong showing in the boys event at Morris Knolls high school. The Epees finished in 6th, the Sabres in 4th and the foils in 10th

GL vs Columbia- Boys squad fell 17-10 but the girls won 14-13 in dramatic fashion on the last bout of the match.

Will host its biggest rival, Columbia, on Thrusday 1/5 at GL. Players to watch on the girls side for GL are Alaina Jennings Epee  and Alaina Uhouse Saber. For the boys it is Epees David Jennings and Bennett Warcaster.
