Halloween and Heidi Klum: A Charitable Treat

Now here's the trick! Send us a photo of your son or daughter in their Halloween costume and you could earn $1,031 to donate to your favorite charity! Oh, and you might get to meet Heidi.

Kids love their Halloween haul, sorting through bags of treats, but before they head out for their sugar-fueled run through the neighborhood, here's a haul that will make you — and local charities — really happy.

If you submit photos of your children in their Halloween costumes, you'll be entered in a contest that makes you eligible to win $1,031 (that number might seem odd, but look at your calendar) that you can donate to your favorite local charity. Oh, and did we mention that Klum, supermodel/TV star/entrepreneur — and mother of four children — has partnered with Patch to judge the costumes herself? Just imagine your photo shoot as the Project Runway of your neighborhood.

In all, 10 winners will get to make donations to a charity. But the Grand Prize Winner will get a particularly special prize. Celebrity Judge Heidi Klum has partnered with Patch to select the most creative kid's Halloween costume across all Patch towns. Your photos will comprise our Pumpkin Patch, so to speak, so send us your entries and your kid could be the Grand Prize winner.

What does this grand prize entail? Patch will whisk the winner to New York or Los Angeles for a three-day, two-night trip for two that includes a meet-and-greet with Heidi.

Entering is easy. Just upload a photo of your kid, 12 years of age or younger, in his or her Halloween costume (There's a button at the top of this article that says "Submit Your Photos"). Entries must be made by the parent or legal guardian of the child photographed. Full rules are .

Submissions must be received before 9 p.m. (local time) on Halloween night (October 31).

Good luck and be sure to support Heidi Klum’s efforts to feed the hungry. Visit Trick or Treat for UNICEF!  You can find more of Heidi’s Halloween favorites at heidiklum.aol.com.
