New Providence High Grad a Standout at Hamilton College

Nicole L. Saitta awarded scholarship and Phi Beta Kappa prize.

Nicole L. Saitta, daughter of Martha Saitta of New Providence and Anthony Saitta of Basking Ridge, was awarded The Charles A. Dana Prize Scholarship and The Phi Beta Kappa Book Prize at Hamilton College’s annual convocation, held on Aug. 28.

The Charles A. Dana Prize Scholarships are awarded annually to approximately 10 sophomores at the end of their first year in recognition of academic achievement, character and leadership. The prize scholarships continue through the senior year, provided the recipients continue to fulfill the requirements.

The Phi Beta Kappa Book Prizes were established by an alumnus and his wife to recognize and to encourage students who have completed their first year at Hamilton and are likely to become eventual candidates for election to Phi Beta Kappa. The prizes are awarded to the 10 students who have the highest grade point averages at the conclusion of their first year of study.

Saitta, a sophomore, is a graduate of New Providence High School.
