New Providence Kindergarten Registration will be held at Allen W. Roberts and Salt Brook Elementary Schools. Children whose last name begins with letters A-L will register from 1 to 2 p.m., while Children whose last name begins with letters M-Z will regis

New Providence School District will hold Kindergarten registration for September 2012, on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, from 1 to 3 p.m., at and .

To be eligible for registration, a child must be five years old on or before October 1, 2012.  Prior to registration, medical and registration forms should be obtained from Allen W. Roberts School, Salt Brook School or through a link on the home page of the district’s website at www.npsd.k12.nj.us.

Forms are to be completed in advance and brought on the day of registration, with the child’s birth certificate and 4 proofs of residency – driver’s license, deed, lease or current utility bill.  Registration centers will be set up at each of the district’s elementary schools.

Documentation from a physician is required indicating that each child has been inoculated against diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), tetanus, polio, measles, German measles, mumps, Hepatitis B, and Varicella (Chicken Pox).  

Proof of a medical physical from a physician must be obtained prior to the start of school in September 2011. The only exemptions from these requirements shall be for documented medical or religious reasons.

New Providence Schools also provide special education for children who are disabled and require special education.  Information and guidance regarding these programs are available.  Parents of preschool children ages 3 to 5 who are in need of special educational consideration can contact the Special Services Office at 464-9050 ext. 239.

Children whose last name begins with letters A-L will register from 1 to 2 p.m. Children whose last name begins with letters M-Z will register from 2 to 3 p.m. Transportation is furnished only to those children who are disabled.

If additional information is needed please call Roberts School at 464-4707 or Salt Brook School at 464-7100. In the event of a weather-related school closing on March 6, kindergarten registration will be rescheduled for the following day, Wednesday, March 7, 2012.
