The New Providence Athletic Booster Club kicked off the fall sports campaign with a barbecue on Aug. 28.
Coaches, athletes, their families and area businesses all donated their time and energy to ensure the annual barbecue was a success, the Alternative Press reported.
Athletic Director Robert Harmer and the New Providence High School Athletic Booster Club organized the affair.
Laurie Barletta, the New Providence High School Athletic Booster Club president, said, “Our fall kick-off barbecue has become a great tradition over the years. It’s such a wonderful start to our season. A great way to bring our sports teams, band, coaches and parents together to kick off the season.”
A special introduction was made for the new high school mascot, the Pioneer, which will be making special appearances throughout the year at different events.
