Robbins, Cataldo lead GL to eighth straight win.

IN SHORT

Top-seeded Gov. Livingston lived up to the ranking again, posting an impressive 11-0 victory over 16th-seeded Summit in the first round of the Union County Tournament Saturday in Berkeley Heights. The Highlanders won their 8th-straight game, posting six runs in the third inning to add some insurance, as GL improved to 15-2 on the season.

Stephanie Cataldo belted home run to lead the offensive attack for Gov. Livingston. GL tallied five runs in the first two frames to set the tone. pounding out 11 hits along the way. Cataldo had three RBI's and Paige Murphy two ribbies in victory.

Marissa Jennings slammed a triple and Janine Barr had a double in the Hilltoppers five-hit performance. Kewairamani also added a single.

OTHER KEY PERFORMANCES

Pitcher Jordan Robbins hurled five innings of five-hit ball for GL. Samantha Frungillo went 3-for-3 while Bari Grossman and Jackie Grossman each added an RBI.

Summit will be home to Brearley of Kenilworth Tuesday afternoon at 4.
