Star New Providence Baseball Player Commits to St. Joseph's College

Marc Giacalone led the Pioneers in batting average and on-base percentage last year.

Marc Giacalone signed a letter of intent last month to play baseball for St. Joseph’s College in the spring of 2015.

Giacalone was the third senior athlete from New Providence High School to sign up with sports teams at their future colleges, according to an article in TheAlternativePress.com. James Burke and Jillian Balog, New Providence High School students, have already signed up with Boston University and Louisville University, respectively.

With a.467 batting average and a .583 on-base percentage, Giacalone led the Pioneers last season, TheAlternativePress.com said.
