How Are You Beating The Heat This Week?

Staying in an air-conditioned space? Hitting the community pool? Tell us how you're staying cool during the heat wave this week.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory Monday for the New Providence, Berkeley Heights and Mountainside area, as heat index values were expected to hit the triple digits.

While a heat advisory has not been issued for the rest of the week as of Monday night, hot and humid temperatures are expected to continue through Friday with temperatures in the mid to upper 90s.

The National Weather Service recommends drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day, staying in an air-conditioned space out of the sun, and checking on neighbors and family members. If you do need to work outside, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded and air-conditioned environments.
