"Cookies for Kids Cancer" Fundraiser Set for Sept. 25

Mountainside resident spearheads event to be held in Westfield.

It is harder and harder to find delicious treats of an old fashioned bake sale these days.  A mom with a mission has brought this old-time tradition back, while doing a lot of good too.

Inspired by the concept, Mountainside resident, Marilyn Berney, is hosting such a bake sale at the Westfield FestiFall on Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. to raise money for "Cookies for Kids Cancer" (CFKC), a 501(c)(3) organization.

The funds raised will be used to directly fund children’s cancer research.  CFKC is committed to raising funds to support research for new and improved therapies for pediatric cancer, the leading cause of death by disease for children under the age of 18.

Through the concept of local bake sales nationally, CFKC will provide the inspiration and support for individuals, communities, and businesses to help children win their fight against pediatric cancer.

Twenty-per cent of the $2,500.00 one day fundraising goal has already been achieved.  Please come support the event.  For more information, or to find out how you can participate in this worthy cause, please contact Marilyn Berney at mabesq@verizon.net.
