New Providence EMS Hosts Open House on June 18

From 7 to 9 p.m., community members can take a tour of the squad building on Academy Street and discuss volunteering with EMTs.

The  will host an Open House for anyone interested in learning more about volunteering with the squad on Monday, June 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. 

The squad building will be open for tours and EMTs will be available to discuss volunteering with the squad. Light refreshments will be served and there will be giveaways for children.

The New Providence Rescue Squad, also know as New Providence EMS, is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that provides pre-hospital emergency medical care at no charge to those in need.

The squad typically responds to more than 600 calls each year. The squad provides training and uniforms to its members.  The squad’s diverse members come from many walks of life but all share the common desire to help others in a time of need. 

This year marks the 60th Anniversary of the New Providence Rescue Squad. The squad is looking for new members in order to be able to continue to serve the community.
