Volunteers Participate in Red Cross Hurricane Preparedness Drill

More than 130 volunteers from the area chapters participated in the drill, held at the American Red Cross of Northern New Jersey Chapter in Fairfield.

On Saturday, June 11, eleven volunteers from the Colonial Crossroads Chapter American Red Cross participated in nationally sponsored American Red Cross preparedness drill.

The readiness exercise was designed to simulate a devastating 3.0 hurricane. The purpose of the drill was to evaluate how the Red Cross would respond in the first days of such a disaster.

American Red Cross chapters stretching from the Caribbean to the Canadian border participated in this event. The drill was conducted at the American Red Cross of Northern New Jersey Chapter, which is headquartered in Fairfield.

Participants from the Colonial Crossroads Chapter included: Judy Gaudino, Summit; Beth Pincus, Summit; Anthony Novellino, Denville; Linda deQuintal, Fanwood; Pat Dolan, New Providence; Rose Kulp, Scotch Plains; Jack O'Meara, Morris Township; Maria Araujo, Hillside; Julie Siciliano, Madison; Nancy Wittman, Cranford; and Joanne Corbo, Chatham.
