As one of four schools in New Providence "dedicated to excellence," New Providence High School serves 640 students who are instructed by 70 faculty members. Curriculum areas include language arts literacy, mathematics, science, U.S. and world history, health, safety and physical education, financial, economic, business and entrepreneurial literacy, 21<sup>st</sup> century life and careers, visual and performing arts and world languages. Honors and Advanced Placement courses are available, and students can submit an application for the National Honor Society. Other services include guidance and special services. Courses at the Union County Vocational School are available for students. Lunch is provided for all students and a menu is posted on the school's website. The PTA, Booster Club, and New Providence Athletic Foundation raise funds for the school each year. Athletic programs are available to students in the fall, winter and spring. School faculty members and students run NP-TV, the local 24-hour channel available to all residents, on channel 35 (Comcast) or 37 (Verizon FiOS). The school is attached to the middle school, sharing classrooms, some faculty members, a media center and auditorium, but the school is considered separate with its own offices. In 2010, the school was ranked No. 5 out of 322 public schools in New Jersey by <i>New Jersey Monthly</i> magazine.
