Eagle Scout Jay Morgan Learns Leadership Skills While Contributing to Library

Learning about leadership one project at a time.

While Jay Morgan has learned the lessons of leadership throughout his scouting career during the last six years, completing his community project to earn Eagle Scout status in late 2011, offered him a unique opportunity to put his leadership skills to the test. The Berkeley Heights Library needed some help and Morgan stepped up to the challenge. The task was to remove a wall of shelves and cover a wall of pegboard with sheet rock. "The project involved six days of work and there was a good deal of planning and directing three to six guys each day," Morgan said.  He joined the Scouts when he was in the fifth grade, and now that he's a senior at Governor Livingston High School, he said his journey through the scouts has been memorable and …
