County Welcomes FEMA Disaster Recovery Center

A Disaster Recovery Center has opened in Springfield.

The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders is pleased to announce that FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, has opened its first Disaster Recovery Center in Union County, to enable residents to apply for disaster assistance in person. The Center is located at the Chisholm Community Center at 100 South Springfield Ave. in Springfield. It is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day of the week including Saturday and Sunday. “Many residents have used FEMA’s website and toll-free number, but for those of you who need an extra hand, the Disaster Recovery Center enables you to talk to a FEMA representative in person,” said Freeholder Chairman Mirabella. “It is very reassuring to be able to speak with someone face to face, so if you have …

Lance To Host Mobile Office Hours In Cranford

Congressman Leonard Lance will be at the Cranford Community center Friday afternoon.

Congressman Leonard Lance and his staff will hold a mobile office in Cranford on Nov. 2 to assist Union County residents and small businesses with Hurricane Sandy disaster assistance.   The legislator will host office hours from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Cranford Community Center, 220 Walnut Ave., which is also serving as a regional shelter for those displaced by Hurricane Sandy. The day before Hurricane Sandy slammed into the region, Lance met with officials in cranford and Springfield and vowed to make relief efforts a priority following the storm.
