While any town resident can donate time to the New Providence Memorial Library, some residents start volunteering and just don't stop. Betty Metzger, a Borough resident, has been volunteering for nearly 20 years. "I love the library. I've been a Friend of the Library for 20 years," Metzger said. Children's entertainer mr. Ray (a.k.a. Ray Anderson) brought smiles to the faces of the young and young-at-heart who braved the downpour to attend his annual concert, a fundraiser for the New Providence Library yesterday at the Municipal Center's gym. "We do it every year on the same day during the NJEA (New Jersey Education Association) conference," said Colleen Bryne, Library Director. "It's a win-win.
