Athletic Foundation Gives Council $65K for Lieder Field Lights

New Providence Council bonded $110,000 for the Lieder Field Lighting Project in 2010. New Providence Athletic Foundation hopes to pay remaining $45,000 balance in 2013.

About 2,500 kids use Lieder Field in New Providence every year. Thanks to the New Providence Athletic Foundation and lights that were installed in 2011, community members are now utilizing the field during evening hours. This project was made possible through the efforts of community volunteers, who managed to raise $125,000 of the $235,000 needed for the lights through the New Providence Partnership for Recreation and the Union County Kids Recreation Trust Fund Grant. New Providence Council agreed to bond the remaining $110,000 needed for the project at a December 2010 meeting and the Athletic Foundation agreed to pay back that money over time. Athletic Foundation Hosts 'NP Night Out' Fundraiser This Saturday

Sixth annual fundraiser will help New Providence Athletic Foundation pay off remaining Lieder Field renovation debt that provided $1M in improvements without taxpayer impact.

By Jim Madden & Allison Smith The New Providence Athletic Foundation invites you to attend the first annual “NP Night Out,” which will be held this Saturday, Sept. 15 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at New Providence High School’s Lieder Field. All are welcome to attend. Our 6th Annual Fundraiser will help the NPAF pay off its remaining debt on the Lieder Field renovation, which began back in 2007 and has provided $1 million in improvements to the complex without any taxpayer impact.   The fundraiser will feature free sports and games for kids from 3 to 18 years of age, including the Micro League Soccer season opener for 1st and 2nd graders, an NFL style Football Combine sponsored by the PAL, Lacrosse Hard Shot competition and an athletic …
