One man is hoping fans will open their wallets to fund the defense of an Internet celeb accused in the murder of Clark resident Joseph Galfy.
Will fans of 'Kai the Hatchet-Wielding Hitcher' stand by him now that the Internet celeb has been arrested for the murder of Clark's Joseph Galfy? At least one fan is, and he's asking other supporters of Kai (whose real name is Caleb Lawrence McGillvary) to open their wallets to fund his $3 million bail and the cost of his legal defense. Galfy, 73, was found in his Clark home on Monday morning after hosting McGillvary, 24, overnight on Saturday and Sunday. Police say that McGillvary murdered Galfy, who was found in his underwear and socks, severely beaten. McGillvary was arrested in Philadelphia on Thursday night. For his part, in a Tuesday post on his Facebook page, McGillvary alleges that he was drugged and raped, and asks readers, "…

On behalf of the community, Mr. Mirabelli expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Lions Club for their past decades of service. He noted that the older light bulbs, which were previously hung and maintained by the Lions Club members, were getting harder to …

Mourners hold candlelight vigil, sing along to Houston's hit songs outside Newark funeral home.
Whitney Houston is finally home. The singer's body was returned to her native Newark shortly before midnight Monday amid a throng of screaming fans who waited hours for the hearse to arrive at Whigham Funeral Home. Surrounded by heavy police presence, a gold-colored car with blacked out windows dropped off Houston's casket, concealed by a white tent, at a back entrance off Shipman Street. Houston's mother, Cissy, and other family members were seen filing into the funeral home about 15 minutes before the hearse arrived. Houston, who was found dead at age 48 inside a Beverly Hills hotel room Saturday, was flown from California to Teterboro Airport in New Jersey for the wake and public memorial that may be held in Newark later this week. Westfield's Digiplex Rialto will host a three-day cinephile celebration of independent films, Q&As with stars and directors.
In 1989, Robert DeNiro (you may have heard of him) and his business partner, Jane Rosenthal, founded Tribeca Productions Film Studio. Their goal was to foster filmmaking projects in New York City. They continued to grow the business throughout the five boroughs. But in 2002, they had a grander plan. They wanted to bring commerce and confidence back to lower Manhattan as it began to rebuild after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and the Tribeca Film Festival was born. A decade later, the festival has drawn more than 3 million actors, directors, producers and film buffs to New York to review thousands of films — shorts, documentaries, family films and serious features. The festival has generated more than $600 million in business for…
