Update: Woman Hit By Van Wasn't In Crosswalk, Sustained Minor Injuries

Winifred Bozzomo didn't cross Morris Avenue in crosswalk. David Inernoscia could not stop his van due to wet roadway. Both Berkeley Heights residents were issued a summons.

The Berkeley Heights resident who was struck on Morris Avenue in Summit Friday evening was not in the crosswalk at the time of the accident, according to Summit Police, and she did not sustain any life threatening injuries. The Summit Police Department received a report of an accident involving one motor vehicle and a pedestrian near the intersection of Morris Avenue and Lafayette Avenue in Summit on Friday, Dec. 7 at 6:31 p.m., said Summit Police Lt. David L. Richel in an email. The officers who responded to the scene found that Winifred Bozzomo, a 75-year-old resident of Berkeley Heights, was crossing the roadway with her husband.
