On the agenda for the Feb. 20 planning board meeting is the application to construct off-street parking areas and drainage facilities on the property of Summit Medical Group.
The Berkeley Heights planning board will meet on Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m. and review the application to construct additional parking at Summit Medical Group. Summit Medical Group is seeking the approval of construction of off-street grade-level parking and drainage facilities on their property at One Diamond Hill Road, according to the planning board agenda. Additionally, if required by the board, they also will be looking to obtain a waiver from the township on the number of tree replacements (in coordination with the Chapter 12.16 ordinance). The planning board will also be discussing a proposed awning for Delicious Heights and approve the minutes of the Feb. 6 meeting.

Summit Medical Group held its third "Live Well Sports and Health Festival" on Sunday. A little rain didn't stop the show, which ran from from noon until 4 p.m.
The sun made an appearance by the end of the Summit Medical Group healthy living festival, but not after things got a little wet. Still, hundreds came out to decorate pumpkins, and enjoy the fun and health-filled activities for kids and families.

The Pediatrics Department at Summit Medical Group invites children and their parents to turn in their excess Halloween candy on Tuesday November 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. In exchange, they’ll receive a coupon toward a healthy lunch at the Group’s onsite Café and a small gift. Michelle Bender, M.D., Chair of Pediatrics at the Group says limiting candy and other unhealthy foods is key to a happier, healthier child. “More children are being diagnosed with diseases linked to being overweight and obese previously seen only in adults, such as Type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
