Jim Madden has been an active volunteer within the community since 1994 having held many coaching positions within the PAL and New Providence Soccer Club.    He currently serves on the boards of the New Providence Athletic Foundation (NPAF), the New Providence Partnership for Recreation (NPPR), and is currently the Chairman of the Community Activities Advisory Board (CAAB).  

He is an associate member of the New Providence Republican Committee, while serving as Campaign Manager for Gary Kapner & Alan Lesnewich for New Providence Borough Council.

Outside of New Providence, he is a board member of the Columbia High School Soccer Alumni Association and a former member of the board of directors of the United Soccer League.

Jim and his wife Angela have lived in New Providence since 1990, having grown up in the Maplewood-South Orange area.   They have three children, Jimmy (20), Jenna (17) and Brian (14).
